Woman.” was debuted by Graham and Joanna Griffiths at the Adweek Challenger Brands Summit in February 2022, just in time for International Women’s Day. The film’s primary objective was to counteract negative female stereotypes while also emphasising the strength of women.

Graham is a supporter of the “Health at Every Size” campaign as well as the “body positivity” movement. In the year 2016, she made history by becoming the first model of her size 16 to appear on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Graham’s cover was hailed by Glamour as “pushing size acceptance into the mainstream.” In 2017, she made history by becoming the first plus-size model to ever feature in Vogue by appearing on the cover of the publication. Graham delivered a TED Talk in which she advocated for self-acceptance in relation to body image. During the talk, she looked into a full-length mirror and had a conversation with her body parts, saying comments such as “Back fat, I see you bursting over my bra today.” But that’s not a problem at all. I’m going to make the decision to adore you. Graham has received compliments from other women on Instagram for posting images of herself that expose her cellulite.

She expressed these words in an interview with Vogue: “I absolutely believe that my physique has transformed the lives of a great number of people.” I have used my body as a tool to talk about taboo themes such as cellulite and being insecure about lower belly fat. I have also utilised my body to talk about [how to] talk life into your body and have an affirmation kind of discussion with yourself. And I know the lives that have been touched; young women and even ladies my age who have written to me and said things like, “I never loved the skin that I was in until I heard your journey.” Graham has stated that she does not prefer the term “plus-size,” and here is why: “I think that when you use the word ‘plus-size,’ you’re putting all these women into a category: ‘You don’t eat well.’ ‘You don’t work out.’ ‘You couldn’t care less about your body.’ ‘You’re insecure.’ ‘You have no confidence.’

And that has nothing to do with any of this [indicating her body]… It’s possible that the fashion industry will continue to refer to me as “plus-size,” but I like to think of it as “my size.” Graham has been involved in the humanitarian work that the Themba Foundation has been doing in South Africa. In 2009, she went to the church that she now attends when she met her videographer husband, Justin Ervin. They got married the following year. Graham and Ervin made the happy announcement in August 2019 that they were expecting their first child together. During an interview with CBS News in 2017, Graham confessed that the news of her interracial relationship with Ervin, who is black, had come as a surprise to her family: I will never forget how I felt as I sat there with Justin and thought to myself, “I’m so humiliated that I had to bring him in to meet these people, these people who raised me and showed me how to live, and he’s being treated so horribly.”

I will never forget that sensation. And he added to me, “Racism is something that will never surprise you, but it will always disappoint you.” On the 18th of January in the year 2020, Graham welcomed a son into the world. She made the announcement that they were going to have a second child in July of 2021 which turned out to be identical twin boys.  In January 2022, Graham delivered the twins in the comfort of his own house. At the age of twelve, Graham was shopping in a Nebraska mall when a talent agent spotted her and brought her in for an audition. Before she graduated from Lincoln Southwest High School in 2005, she was featured in a number of publications, including billboards and magazines.

It was tough for her to acquire work at the beginning of her modelling career due to the peculiar physical structure she possessed. Graham was advised that she would never be able to develop beyond easy tasks, despite the fact that she had requests to appear as a catalogue girl over a period of several years. Thankfully, she was able to disprove the session casters’ assumptions, and as a result, she made rapid advancements in her job. She was given one of her first major breakthroughs when she was interviewed by Sally Singer of “Vogue” magazine in 2007.

This occurred in the year 2007. After then, in 2009, she was included in the article “These Bodies Are Beautiful at Every Size” in the magazine “Glamour.” Graham starred in a controversial Lane Bryant ad that was ultimately banned in various countries; the advertisement had had over 800,000 views by the time it was pulled from YouTube. This led to Graham once again making news. She addressed the issue head-on by making an appearance on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno when the situation had gotten out of hand. Graham shot to fame almost immediately and is now one of the plus-size industry’s most well-known models to this day.
