John Bon Jovi was born on March 2, 1962. He spent a significant portion of his boyhood performing with local bands and working as a caretaker at the recording studio owned by his cousin Tony in New York City. Sweeping floors was quickly replaced with recording demos with bands such as Bruce Springsteen’s band for the native of New Jersey before he put together a band of his own and signed with Mercury Records in 1983. Bruce Springsteen’s band was one of those bands.

The band, whose name was derived from a shortened form of his surname, Bon Jovi, issued an album with the same name in 1984 but did not get much critical praise. It was their third album, 1986’s Slippery When Wet, which led to international popularity. By this time, the hairdresser’s son Jon was already getting ladies hot under the collar with his chiseled features and feathery hair, but Slippery When Wet was the record that led to their success on a global scale. The vocalist debuted as a solo artist with the release of the album Blaze Of Glory in 1990. This album includes songs from the “Brat Pack” film Young Guns II and features the singer’s first appearance in a major motion picture.

The band got together again in 1992 to record Keep The Faith, which was welcomed with less excitement than their previous efforts. Still, the band’s successive significant triumph came with the publication of their most excellent hits album, Crossroads. The band may have been moving in a new, gentler direction, as shown by the successful song “Always,” In the closing years of the millennium, Jon seemed to be focusing more and more on his acting career.

1997 saw the release of his second solo album, which coincided with filming a music video with Demi Moore. His acting career has now taken off, and in the year 2000, he had a substantial amount of commercial success in the United States with the drama about a submarine called U-571. In the same year, he contributed his skills to the racy American comedy series Sex and the City and reunited with his fellow bandmates to record the album Crush. All of these endeavors took place in the United States. In 2002, he appeared on Ally McBeal numerous times as a guest star, portraying the role of Victor Morrison, the love interest of the eccentric lawyer. Later, in the same year, Bon Jovi released their eighth album titled “Bounce.”

Jon has successfully juggled his career as a pop artist with his responsibilities as a husband and father thanks to his high school love Dorothea Hurley, whom he married in 1989. He is the father of four children with his wife Dorothea, whose birth years are 1993, 1995, 2002, and 2004 respectively. His children are Stephanie Rose, Jesse James, Jacob, and Romeo. Despite the temptations that come with fame, the celebrity maintains a home life that is, for the most part, unremarkable. He is quoted as having said, “I wouldn’t trade my wife for five Cindy Crawfords,” where Cindy Crawford is the name of the supermodel who appeared alongside him.

After releasing the blockbuster album Slippery When Wet in 1986 and the hit singles “You Give Love a Bad Name,” “Wanted Dead or Alive,” and “Living on a Prayer,” Bon Jovi ended up transcending the big-haired ’80s, withstanding changes in style and sound to become one of the biggest American rock bands of their time. This allowed them to become one of the most influential bands in pop-metal history. Bon Jovi’s popularity extended beyond the borders of the United States, in contrast to many of their big-haired pop-metal contemporaries.

Each of Slippery When Wet, it’s 1988 sequel New Jersey, and 1992’s Keep the Faith were commercial successes on a global scale, selling more than 10 million copies of their respective albums throughout the globe. Bon Jovi deftly and quietly adapted their musical style to reflect the zeitgeist of the late 1980s, another way in which they stood out from other bands who were popular on MTV then. First, the band gradually reduced their dependence on arena rock guitars, emphasizing melody and ballads more while maintaining their commitment to hard rock. They combined parts of the country and soft rock, which proved successful maneuvers that enabled the band to maintain their appeal far into the 21st century.

The band Bon Jovi got its name from its main vocalist Jon Bon Jovi, whose birth name was Jon Bongiovi. Bon Jovi’s lead singer Jon Bon Jovi spent his teenage years performing in local Jersey bands with David Bryan (born David Rashbaum). The renowned New York recording facility known as the Power Station was owned by Jon Bongiovi’s cousin Tony Bongiovi, and Jon spent a great deal of time there, working as a caretaker and recording demos after hours, often with the assistance of members of the E Street Band or Aldo Nova.

One of those tracks, “Runaway,” became a smash on local New Jersey radio and led to the foundation of Bon Jovi the band. Guitarist Dave Sabo, bassist Alec John Such, and drummer Tico Torres joined Jon and Bryan, backed by Bon Jovi. “Runaway” sparked a bidding battle among major record labels, ultimately resulting in a deal with Polygram/Mercury in 1983. Richie Sambora, a professional guitarist with an extensive résumé that includes a period as a member of Message, was brought on by Bon Jovi before the group entered the studio to replace Sabo.

The year 1984 saw the release of Bon Jovi’s self-titled debut album, which spawned a Top 40 hit with the original version of “Runaway.” The following year saw the release of 7800° Fahrenheit, which was certified gold. These albums were a prelude to the band’s breakthrough album, Slippery When Wet, released in 1986. Paul Stanley had provided Jon and Richie with the contact information of a professional composer named Desmond Child. The four collaborated in Richie’s parent’s basement to create two of the album’s most successful songs.

The trio wrote 30 songs and performed them for groups of youngsters from New Jersey and New York. The results of these auditions were used to determine the album’s running order. The song “You Give Love a Bad Name,” which was immediately followed by “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “Wanted Dead or Alive,” was the driving force behind the record’s initial success. The song was supported by multiple attractive and direct videos that gained extensive play on MTV.

These three Top Ten Hits were critical in helping to drive Slippery When Wet to sales of nine million in the United States alone, which helped to establish Bon Jovi as superstar in their nation. Yet, their popularity was not restricted to the United States since the record was also a significant smash in countries like Europe, Canada, Japan, and Australia. Bon Jovi improved upon the success of Slippery When Wet with their album New Jersey, which debuted at number one upon its first release in 1988.

New Jersey was only marginally less successful than its predecessor, selling five million copies and producing two number-one singles, “Bad Medicine” and “I’ll Be There for You,” in addition to the Top Ten hits “Born to Be My Baby,” “Lay Your Hands on Me,” and “Living in Sin.” After completing an 18-month international tour after completing New Jersey’s success, the band went on hiatus. In his spare time, Jon Bon Jovi composed the score for the second installment of the Young Guns film series, which was later released as the album Blaze of Glory in 1990.

The album was nominated for many Grammy Awards and Oscars, and it spawned two big singles, including “Miracle,” which peaked at number 12, and the record’s title tune, which reached number one. The band Bon Jovi got back together the following year to record their fifth studio album, “Keep the Faith,” and released in the autumn of 1992. The album did not achieve the same level of success as its predecessors. Still, it did create a hit with the ballad “Bed of Roses,” which was in the adult contemporary style and contributed to the band’s continued popularity.

Hugh McDonald, who had previously appeared on Bon Jovi recordings as far back as “Runaway,” became his unofficial replacement and was featured prominently on the band’s subsequent album. In 1994, a greatest-hits album called Cross Road was released, resulting in another Top Ten ballad called “Always.” Around the same time, bassist Alec John Such left the group. Hugh McDonald, who had previously appeared on Bon Jovi recordings going as far back as “Runaway,” These Days, which was first made available to the public in the autumn of 1995, went on to become another U.S. Top Ten, in addition to becoming a massive smash throughout Europe.

After his roles in the films Moonlight and Valentino, released in 1996, Jon Bon Jovi issued his first official solo album, Destination Anywhere, in the summer of 1997. Before easing back into work in 1999 with a song for EDtv, then commencing work on a full-length album, the members of Bon Jovi dabbled in separate projects around the tail end of the 1990s. For example, Sambora released a sophomore solo set called Undiscovered Soul in 1998.

The resulting album, titled Crush, was released in 2000 and served as a comeback in the United States owing to the breakthrough song “It’s My Life,” a cross-platform hit single with long legs. Also, “Thank You for Loving Me” became a smash, contributing to Crush achieving double platinum status in the United States and selling eight million copies worldwide. With the release of their seventh studio album, Crush, in the summer of 2001, Bon Jovi soon followed it up with the release of their eighth studio album, Bounce, in the autumn of 2002.

The band re-recorded several of their most well-known songs in 2003 for the acoustic CD This Left Feels Right, which also received an accompanying Video in 2004. The album was focused on the concept that the left feels right. After the release of the brand new Have a Good Day, the first of numerous albums produced by John Shanks, the ambitious outtakes and rarities box set titled 100,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can’t Be Wrong was released in November of the same year.

That album’s success was partly aided by the single “Who Says You Can’t Go Home,” which featured guest vocals from Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles. The song ultimately won the Grammy Award for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals and topped the charts in Japan, Australia, Europe, and Canada. Jennifer Nettles is a member of Sugarland. The band stayed in the recording studio for the whole of the year that followed, putting the final touches on a collection of pop-influenced heartland country classics.

The album that resulted from those collaborations, Lost Highway, was released in the summer of 2007 and contained duets with LeAnn Rimes and Big & Rich. Consequently, the band gained a new fan following among country music enthusiasts. The multi-genre approach used on Lost Highway by Bon Jovi proved highly successful, earning them their third number-one album in the United States. Nevertheless, not long after that, the band returned to its rock roots by releasing a solemn and introspective album named The Circle in 2009.

The members of Bon Jovi pursued solo projects in the early years of the 2010s, the most notable of which was Sambora’s 2012 solo album Aftermath of the Lowdown. One year later, Greatest Hits: The Ultimate Collection offered plenty of hits and two new tracks, “No Apologies” and “What Do You Get?” In the early years of the 2010s, Bon Jovi members pursued solo projects. Two months after the release of Sambora’s album, the band released Inside Out, a live album for a video filmed at the O2 Arena in London, the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, and the Madison Square Garden in New York.

What About Now, Bon Jovi’s first album recorded in a studio in four years and released in March 2013, marked the band’s comeback. It was in the same thematic and musical company as The Circle, and it topped the charts in the United States and Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom (where it reached number two). What About Now was their first album that did not be certified gold in the United States, even though it had a strong start in the charts.
