Julie Dawn Cole Biography and Career:

Julie Dawn Cole is a well-known English actress born on October 26th, 1957. She made her acting debut as a kid in the film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, released in 1971, portraying the role of Veruca Salt. Cole brought up in Guildford, Surrey, was only twelve years old when she was cast in the supporting part during the project’s pre-production phase in the first half of 1970. The filming took place at the Bavaria Film Studios.

On June 30, 1971, the movie was first shown in New York City, and the following week it was established in London. Cole was selected to give a bouquet to Princess Margaret at the Royal Premiere, which took place in London. She and the other pre-adolescent “leading lady” in the movie, American Denise Nickerson, both developed crushes on Peter Ostrum, who was also an American, and they took turns hanging out with him during breaks in the making of the movie. Denise Nickerson played Violet Beauregarde. During the filming of the “I Want It Now” segment, which took place on Cole’s 13th birthday, she was presented with three film props: a golden egg prop, a golden ticket prop, and an Everlasting Gobstopper prop. Cole did sing the song “I Want It Now,” but she recorded her voice in a recording studio during a different session. She then mimed the audio while shooting the video. Cole has said in interviews that the inspiration for her role in the movie came from a girl who went to the same boarding school as she did.

Following the completion of shooting the movie, Cole retained both the Golden Ticket prop and the accompanying bar prop in his collection. After some time, she handed it off to her friend Linda Carr. Both mounts were sold at auction on July 17, 2019, for a price that was more than £15,000 each. The public sale may be seen in BBC Bargain Hunt Series 54, Episode 19, Ardingly 19. Catherine Southon served as the auctioneer for the event. Cole was hired in a recurring part in the ITV sitcom…And Mother Makes Three as soon as she returned home after filming. In the show, she portrayed Arabella a spoiled and pretentious adolescent girl. Following the show’s overwhelming success, Cole received continuous employment offers in his field of expertise.
