Osmond is a three-time winner of the Canadian national championship (bronze). Osmond made her debut on the senior level in 2012, the same year that she also won gold at Skate Canada International.

After taking home the first of what would be three consecutive national titles, she made her debut at the World Championships and finished in eighth place. Osmond took home a silver medal in the team competition at the 2014 Summer Olympics, in which Canada competed in. Osmond, who had been sidelined by an injury and had struggled to return to competitive form, reclaimed her Canadian championship in 2017 and went on to win silver at the World Championships in 2017. She won a bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics and at the 2017–18 Grand Prix Final, and she won a gold medal at the 2018 World Championships and with the Canadian team at the 2018 Olympic team event.

The following season, she finished on the podium at every event she competed in, including winning a bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics. One of the most successful female figure skaters in her country’s history, she won Canada’s first women’s World title in half a century and its sixth medal in the ladies event at the Olympics. Osmond’s parents, Jeff and Jackie Osmond brought him into the world in Marystown, Newfoundland. Osmond started skating when she was three years old, following in the footsteps of her older sister Natasha. They frequently travelled to Montreal in order to get their skating in during the summer months because Marystown did not have enough ice. Osmond began her figure skating training at the Ice Palace Figure Skating Club in Edmonton when she was ten years old. Her coaches there were Ravi Walia and Lance Vipond, and the choreography was done by Vipond. Osmond’s family moved out west when her father found work in the oil sector. Osmond participated in the Canadian Championships for the first time as a senior competitor for the first time during the 2011–12 season. After the short programme, she was in the first place, ahead of the defending champion Cynthia Phaneuf and the 2011 bronze medalist Amelie Lacoste.

She won the medal in 2011. Osmond took up the bronze medal for the competition overall. Osmond was victorious in the preliminary round of competition at the World Junior Championships in 2012. She ended up coming in tenth place overall. Osmond earned her first international title at the 2012 Nebelhorn Trophy, which took place during the 2012–13 season. The following year, at the 2012 Skate Canada International, she competed in her first senior Grand Prix event. Even though she placed second in both the short programme and the free programme, her overall performance was good enough to win the tournament.

Osmond expressed his amazement by saying, “On the Junior Grand Prix, I was always ninth or 10th, so this is really extraordinary.” Osmond was unable to qualify for that season’s Grand Prix Final despite the fact that she won Skate Canada. This was due to the fact that she had not been assigned a second Grand Prix competition. After that, Osmond was victorious at the 2013 Canadian Championships, where she took home her first senior national title. This was the first time in 10 years that the Canadian title for ladies’ single skating was won by a skater from a province other than Quebec. Osmond earned the seventh-place position at the Four Continents in 2013.

As a consequence of Osmond’s performance at the national championship, she was selected to represent Canada in the ladies’ singles competition at the World Championships in London, Ontario, in 2013. It was considered by many in the Canadian skating community to be “the best global championship debut by a Canadian woman since the 1970s” when she placed an unexpected fourth in the short programme.  Osmond had difficulty in the middle portion of her long programme, and as a result, she fell twice and stepped out of another jump. As a result, she finished tenth in the long programme, which contributed to her overall finish of eighth place. The outcome of this competition guaranteed Canada two slots in the Winter Olympics in 2014.

Following the event, Osmond was asked about his thoughts, and he responded as follows: “I had a small thought of a possible medal in my head, but I put it out of my mind and focused on my goal, which was top 10.” During the month of August 2013, Osmond received instruction from Walia and Frank Carroll while he was in southern California for approximately two weeks. She was sidelined from playing ice hockey for the better part of September 2013 due to a stress reaction in her left ankle. In late October, she participated in the 2013 Skate Canada International, where she finished in fifth place in the short programme. However, she was forced to withdraw from the competition before the free skate because of a ruptured hamstring in her right leg.

She also withdrew from the Rostelecom Cup in 2013, but she made her comeback to competition at the Skate Canada Challenge in 2014. She dominated both competitions at the 2014 Canadian Championships, allowing her to successfully defend her title as the national champion. Osmond competed in the Winter Olympics on Canada’s behalf in Sochi, Russia, in February 2014. Osmond participated in both parts of the team event, earning a fifth-place finish in both of them and making a contribution to Canada’s silver-medal performance. After that, she went on to compete in the individual ladies’ singles event, where she ended up finishing thirteenth.

After the competition, she reflected on her performance in the individual event, saying that it was “perhaps my weakest short programme all year.” She competed in the 2014 World Championships in Saitama, Japan, in March, and finished eleventh overall. Osmond was given the opportunity to compete at the 2014 Skate Canada International and the 2014 Trophée Éric Bompard during the 2014–15 season.  She wanted to try out a triple loop jump for the first time in a competition as part of her routine, which was something she had never done before. [ On September 11, 2014, she had an injury that resulted in a broken leg, and she was forced to pull out of both events as a result of this injury.

Osmond was forced to miss the rest of the season due to the injury he sustained. Due to the fact that she had fractured her right fibula, she would need to undergo not one but two surgeries: the first would include the implantation of a metal plate and seven screws, and the second would involve their removal.  As a result of the injury, she started thinking about quitting at the age of 18, despite the fact that she still had hopes of competing in the Olympics. She later revealed that the accident and the recovery that followed it were actually beneficial to her since they helped her become more focused, more motivated, and stronger.
