On November 12th, 1984, in Inglewood, California, Omari Ishmael Grandberry was brought into the world by his parents, Trent Grandberry and Leslie Burrell. He is the eldest of the seven children born to the couple. The fact that his younger brother O’Ryan is also a singer and songwriter in his own right makes him stand out among the rest of his family. The Grandberrys hail from the United States and are of African-American ethnicity. Since he was a young boy, he has always had a keen interest in theatrical productions, whether at school or elsewhere. At the age of five, he also started appearing in several advertisements for products such as “McDonald’s” and “Kellogg’s Corn Pops.” He was a child prodigy.

Throughout his entire time in high school, he was an active member of the football team and was well-known for his unique dance moves. His big break came in 1999 when a producer named Chris Stokes formed a boy band called “B2K.” The band consisted of boys between the ages of 14 and 16, and Omarion was the lead singer for the group. Between the years 2001 and 2004, the group known as “B2K” released three albums, all of which were commercially successful. The group members also appeared in the film “You Got Served,” which was released in 2004, and told the story of a dance group preparing to win a street dance competition against another dance group.

Everyone was taken aback in 2004 when the ‘B2 K band announced their decision to break up; nonetheless, this opened the door for Omarion to pursue a career as a solo artist. His solo album, ‘O,’ was released in 2005, and it ultimately reached the top spot on the U.S. Charts. In 2006, he released another album titled “21,” including the successful track “Ice Box.” In the middle of the 2000s, he made a successful transition to the big screen, acting in many movies such as “Fat Albert” (2004), “The Proud Family Movie” (2005), “Somebody Help Me” (2007), and “Feel the Noise” (2007), in which he portrayed the role of a troubled young musician.

(2006). Omarion started a romantic relationship with the American actress Jennifer Freeman in 2003. Freeman is most known for her performances in television series such as ‘My Wife and Kids,’ which she appeared in. Even though the couple seemed well-suited for one another and had also appeared in a film together (You Got Served), this relationship did not last for a very long time, and in 2005, the two of them went their separate ways.

As his previous relationship ended, Omarion went through a period during which he did not date anybody until eventually meeting and falling in love with Apryl Jones. The couple has been blessed with two children: a son who goes by the name Megaa Omari and a daughter, who was named A’mei Kazuko. In 2016, the couple concluded that they should no longer be together and separate. In 2014, rumors began circulating that Omarion demanded a DNA test be conducted on his son Apryl because he suspected that he was having an affair with a Mexican lover. The word on the street is that she refused to submit to such a test. This rumor was shown to be false at a later time.

Omarion was arrested in 2014 for failing to appear for a traffic ticket in court. In the same year, in a separate incident, his naked pictures were leaked all over the internet via iCloud storage. Both of these events occurred in 2014. The song was about playing Russian Roulette.

Leslie, his mother, is his stylist and once served in the same capacity for the band B2K. Omarion was the young vocal group B2breakout K’s star, but he established himself as one of the most successful solo R&B artists of the latter half of the 2000s decade. He did this by becoming one of the most successful solo artists in the genre.

The singer and songwriter, also well-known for his dancing and acting, topped the Billboard 200 and R&B/hip-hop charts with his first solo albums, O (2005) and 21 (2007), respectively. These albums were supported by hits such as the gold-selling singles “O” and “Ice Box” (2006). His first album also earned him a nomination for a Grammy Award. His career took off in the next decade as he affiliated himself with Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group, a time that was capped by the multi-platinum track “Post to Be” (2014), which was his fourth Top 40 pop crossover success. Since then, Omarion has released his fifth solo album, titled The Kinection, as well as recorded independently and re-joined B2K. (2020).

After getting signed to the major label Epic, Omarion made his debut as a solo artist the following February with the album titled O. After that, the album was considered for a Grammy nomination in the “Best Contemporary R&B Album.” The subsequent album, titled 21, was released in December of 2006 and performed precisely the same way on the charts.

The band’s most successful single was the collaboration between Timbaland and Keri Hilson on “Ice Box,” which reached number 12 on the Hot 100. The next step for the singer was to collaborate with Bow Wow on a full-length album called Face Off. The project, which capitalized on the success of Bow Wow’s Omarion-assisted smash “Let Me Hold You,” was promoted by a BET special titled The Road to Platinum. The project entered the Billboard 200 just outside the Top Ten, and like O, it was certified gold by the RIAA.

After he departed from Sony, the parent company of Epic, Omarion briefly collaborated with Young Money Entertainment but ultimately signed a recording contract with EMI, for which he issued his debut studio album, Ollusion, in January of that year. The album debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at position number 19, and it peaked at position seven on the R&B/hip-hop chart. It featured a collaboration with Tank called “I Get It In,” which featured a guest verse from Gucci Mane and a few tracks recorded with Marques Houston. In the latter part of the year, he appeared as a judge in the fifth season of America’s Best Dance Crew.

Then, Omarion became a member of Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group’s artist roster, signed a management contract with Roc Nation, and became a cast member on Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood. Omarion made his comeback with the album titled “Sex Playlist” in December of 2014, following a string of mixtapes, extended plays (EPs), and guest appearances on MMG releases, such as the second and third volumes of the “Self Made” series. The album debuted at position five on the chart that tracks R&B and hip-hop music. Ross and Jeremih were two of the featured artists, along with Jhené Aiko and Chris Brown, who both appeared on “Post to Be,” a song that peaked at number 13 on the pop charts and went on to become a multi-platinum hit.

In 2015, Omarion came out with several singles that served as filler. Additional tracks were released in 2017 as preludes to his fifth solo album, titled Reasons; however, the album itself was never released. Omarion’s response was to post a cover of Earth, Wind & Fire’s classic song of the same name on YouTube on the day the album was scheduled to be available. The singer, who had recently become independent, completed the release of the fourth volume of his EP series titled Care Package before the end of the year. After getting back together with B2K to perform some tour dates in 2019, he made his solo comeback the following year with the song “Can You Hear Me?,” which featured T-Pain as a guest artist. Later in the year 2020, the full-length version of The Kinection was released.
